Background
The client is a PI law firm “dedicated to giving each and every client the highest quality of legal service available in the most efficient manner possible”. They handle a large volume of cases using Needles as their case management system.
Challenges
Paralegal costs were high.
Heavy backlog jeopardized meeting key dates.
Paralegals were overloaded & unable to keep Needles fields up to date.
Paralegal turnover was a burden on attorneys and staff.
Implementation
The law firm was skeptical of off-shore outsourcing. They decided to do a pilot program until they reached a comfort zone. Remote access was used so that client documents remained on the law firm's server. A Confidentiality Agreement was signed and the pilot began. Communications with the client were facilitated through different means such as conference calls, emails and Needles messages. After learning the firm's templates and preferences, the offshore lawyers were able to produce documents such as Motions and Answers to Interrogatories.

Conclusions
